The Selborne Cyclists, raising over R100 000 for CHOC have reached Kenton, and with less than 200km to go, are looking forward to the excitement of reaching home.

An sms from Josh this evening said, “It’s amazing… Got under 200 to go. Did 181 today with hectic headwind, everyone is pretty tired but nearly there so its all good.”

A little while ago, Walter and his crew took Christian hiphop to the streets to raise awareness and speak positively over the lives of the youth. Here’s a little report back from Walter:

Elementz of the Kulture

We made our first stop out in Mbekweni on the 17/01/09 a Township just outside Mdantsane, we had a turn out of over 60 youth out in the Street listening to some poetry & Hip Hop, and of course some R&B. The performances were by:

The Reliable Source ( Hip Hop Youthology Co-host on Link Fm), Tobzed (Christian Rapper from PE), Nelly (Poet from East London), Asanda (Poet from King William’s Town), Siyanda (R&B Artist/Producer from Mbekweni) & Walter ( Poet/Hip Hop Youthology & Afternoon Drive host on Link Fm). The best news is that a lot of youth is opening up to Christian Hip Hop, quite a number from the audience gave their lives to the Lord on that Afternoon. Elementz of the Kulture will be making a turn in your vicinity soon….watch the space. God moves in Hip Hop these days!!

Saturday 4 October is the big day and it’s all happening at the ABSA Stadium where Uncle Angus will preach the undiluted Word of God.  His messages are known to cut into the fear and stress many of us live with today and his message of faith, hope, repentance and restoration is setting thousands free.

As a result, the event has been named:  TRUE FREEDOM IN JESUS

Bring your friends, family, colleagues and anyone who needs to hear the Word of God.  Gates open from 10am while live entertainment and music will start at 12pm.  Joe Niemand and an interdenominational team of musicians will lead Worship from 1:30pm until Angus delivers the Word at 2:30pm.

Tickets are STILL available through Computicket at all Checkers and Shoprite Stores, and MTN Mobile Solutions in Retail Park, Beacon Bay.

The cost is R25 for grandstand seating and R20 for seating on the field. Bring your blankets and cushions  (no chairs, umbrellas or glass will be allowed onto the field)
